ARCHES® Huile Oil Paper is specially designed for oils and is extremely agreeable to work with! ARCHES® Huile Oil Paper Rolls have 2 deckled edges, natural untrimmed edge of a sheet of paper made on a cylinder mould. The irregular edge gives the paper a softer, authentic feel. This White 51"x10 yard roll is Cold Press with a weight of 140 lbs. (300 gsm).

ARCHES® Huile Oil Paper Properties
The even-toothed texture of the 51"x10yd Oil Paper Roll is classic and familiar, and is also perfect for working over oil washes with pastels, pencils, and other dry media for exciting multimedia techniques. This innovative surface is designed specifically for use with oil paints, yet retains the look and feel of traditional ARCHES® paper that artists have come to know and love. Archival and made from 100 percent cotton, ARCHES® Huile Oil Paper features a powerful oil barrier that absorbs water, solvents and binder but allows paints and pigments to sit up on the surface for a vibrant effect. Thanks to its semi-absorbent surface, the paint stays on the surface for an excellent rendering of the colors and faster drying times. This paper is 'mould made' in Eastern France using traditional paper making techniques since 1492!
Uses: Ideal for oil and oil pastels.
Texture: A balanced fine grain, comparable to that of a stretched canvas, making for very comfortable working. Allows the artist to play with the surface, to obtain shadow and light effects. Perfect for oil sketches.

Grammages: The perfect balance artists need to express their creativity. Its grammage and thickness are suited to the application of both washes and impasto. Practical to use as it can easily be cut to the desired size. Strong, but lightweight, it can easily be rolled up to transport. Ideal for painting outdoors (unlike canvas). Available in 140 lbs (300 gsm)
100% cotton: Pleasure of using a soft, supple, noble material. Suitable for marouflage, as it has very good mechanical strength.
Special formulation: Unique sizing and oil barrier (semi-absorbent surface). Ready to use without preparation (priming optional): saves time and there is less risk of damaging the surface in the preparatory stage. Resistant to scratching. Prevents greasy rings forming and protects the fibres from oxidation in contact with the paint. Very tolerant to solvents. The paint sits on the surface for an excellent rendering of the colors and faster drying times.
Conservation: With alkaline reserve, acid-free, no optical brightening agents (permanent in accordance with ISO 9706).
